Nepal’s ISF World Cup Team: Key Details
- Host country: China.
- Tournament dates: October 17–26.
- Coaches: Thaman Bhusal and Santosh Neupane.
- Delegation leader: Raj Kumar Karki, school sports federation general secretary and International School Sport Federation executive committee member.
National Sports Council vice-president Bishal Shrestha and member Monalisha Khambu were among those who bade farewell to the team.
How Were Nepal’s 20 Players Selected?
According to Karki, 372 players entered the selection competition. Selectors shortlisted 40 before choosing the final 20.
The squad includes Ivan Ratna Tuladhar, Manav Subba, Aarav Shrestha, Agrim Jung Singh Basnet, Sahil Raj Thapa and Prashant Meyangbo.
My take: The selection process deserves more attention than the farewell ceremony. These young players should be judged on their football, not burdened with trophy predictions before they compete.
What Supporters Should Watch Next
The departure announcement does not provide Nepal’s opponents, match times, host city or broadcast details. Check the tournament’s official schedule before planning to watch; the October 17–26 window is not Nepal’s individual fixture list.
Conclusion
Nepal’s final 20 now move from selection competition to an international school football tournament. Follow the confirmed fixtures and performances—not premature promises of World Cup glory.
